My donation payments are failing with my Stripe account. Why?

Sometimes you may encounter error messages when payments are being processed. A common error would be 'This account cannot currently make live charges...' 

More than often, this is caused by account restrictions within Stripe and can be corrected relatively easily. Here are some steps to finding the error and connecting with Stripes support:

Log into your Stripe dashboard at https://dashboard.stripe.com, for the account associated with your Campaign. If you do not have the login details, contact your accounts department for the them.

Upon login, check to see if you have a  RESTRICTED icon next to your organisations name.

If you do, the issue is likely that Stripe requires more information for your account. This may related to verification or additional information is needed. Check your account settings to find out more, or simply contact Stripe's support where they can rectify the issue for you.

Once your information is corrected, check to see the RESTRICTED icon is no longer there. If it does not appear, try a test payment.
