Deprecation: Donation Form V1 & V2

Why is this happening?

Our donation form has been continually improved over the years. We've added new features, enhanced aesthetics, and improved security, all to increase the conversion rate for charities by creating a superior donor experience. We want organisations to be able to get the most out of their donation forms and the new features that we've developed ( who doesn't want to increase their donations by 40%?).

That’s why we will be automatically upgrading campaigns to the latest donation form and saying goodbye to older versions!

What's happening?

We’ll be deprecating the oldest version (v1) of the donation form first. You’ll see a notice in the admin panel about the upcoming deprecation. Upgrade your donation forms early to start testing out the new form, its features and adjust the style to match your campaign.

Phase 1 - Monday 4th March 2024

All campaigns using donation form v1 will be upgraded to the newest version (v3). You won’t need to do anything to upgrade, it will apply to all campaigns using Donation Form version 1 automatically. When cloning a campaign with a v1 donation form, the donation form will automatically be upgraded to v3.
There will be no changes to campaigns using donation form v2 in phase 1.

Phase 2 - Date to be confirmed

Campaigns using version 2 of the donation form will be upgraded at a later date. This means there will be no change to campaigns using donation form v2. We’d recommend you upgrade now to utilise the newest features.

We’ll notify you of the next scheduled upgrade to give you plenty of time to prepare.

How to upgrade to Donation Form v3

From your campaign sidebar, select Settings > Donation Form. Select Enable Version 3.0 and confirm in the popup by selecting Enable donation form v3. Do note, any CSS changes that were made to your previous V2 Donation Form will be overwritten with the new styles in V3.

Enabling Donation Form V3

💡 When duplicating a campaign with donation form v1, the new campaign will be automatically upgraded to donation form v3. If you're duplicating a campaign with donation form v2, there'll be an option for you to upgrade now or to remain on donation form v2.

How will I know if I need to upgrade?

Raisely's support team will be notifying all Organisation Admins via email with campaigns containing v1 or v2 Donation Forms, to advise on the depreciation and how to upgrade to v3 without interruption of existing campaigns. You will also see an in-app notification within Ralsely advising you of this upcoming change if upgrade is necessary.

What’s changed in Donation Form version 3?

We’ve optimised our newest donation form version (v3) with improved features based on customer feedback.

  • Digital Wallet payments (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay) are still supported! You’ll see these options automatically at the payment step - no need to enable any settings
  • The new Regular Giving Upsell feature replaces default amounts in v3. We’ve introduced a new Regular Upsell modal to improve overall fundraising amounts for campaigns on Raisely

Check out our blog post on The Power of Regular Giving: Insights from our data for the results of our research!

  • Eligible UK organisations can now automate the Gift Aid claims process using Swiftaid. You can choose to manage this manually or register with Swiftaid to save time. This is all managed within the Donation Form settings
  • Express Payments (ie. one click payments) will no longer be supported in version 3
  • Thank You Message and the Multi-Currency Selector options give you more control in your Donation Form settings
  • We have a new donate button that opens up the donation form in an independent modal
