Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service that provides statistics and basic analytical tools for marketing purposes. GA enables you to track and measure the various visitor interactions occurring on your site, giving you real-time insights into your pages, screens, forms, button clicks, video plays, and so much more.
Connecting Google Analytics to your Raisely site is simple, and this guide will walk you through it. To start, you'll need a Google account to access Google Analytics, if you don't have one already.

Understanding Google Analytics events
Create your Google Analytics property (GA4)
You must create a Google Analytics property in order for Google to track your website's interactions, also known as events. This is a simple process, so let's walk through it.
Create GA4 Property
- Login to Google Analytics with your Google account credentials, and select Admin from the sidebar at the bottom-left.
- Select Create Property from the middle column.
- Give the Property a name referencing your Raisely campaign, and set your timezone and your default currency. Select Next to continue.
- You can enter your business details or simply select Create to continue. Your property is now created.
- You need to create a Stream, so select Web as the platform since you are linking a website.
- Enter your campaign URL (ex. campaign.raisely.com) and give the stream a simple name (ie. website). To find your campaign URL, within Raisely select Live Site to open up your campaign and copy the URL. You do not need to include www. Leave Enhanced Measurement checked, and select Create Stream to finish.
- Copy your Measurement ID as you will need it for the next step.
Add Google Analytics to your Raisely campaign
To add Google Analytics to your Raisely campaign, you need access to the Raisely campaign and have the webstreams Measurement ID from your GA4 Property.
Add Tracking ID in Raisely
- Within Raisely, from the campaign sidebar select Settings > Apps & Integrations
- Turn the Google Analytics integration On
- Paste in your Google Analytics Measure ID (GA4) code within the Tracking ID
- Save your changes
Understanding Google Analytics events
In addition to the default information collected by Google Analytics like page views, referrers, bounce rates and browser/device information, Raisely sends events for different interactions on your fundraising website. You can use these events to understand how people are interacting with your campaign, and even set up goals for conversion rates and other actions.
Raisely sends over 50 different events, helping you track all the interactions you need. If you're not familiar with Google Analytics events, then we recommend you start here.

# We're needing to migrate over to GA4, though we have a lot of customised settings on our Universal Property. Is there support?
If you didn't manually migrate your active standard Universal Analytics property to a new Google Analytics 4 property and didn't opt out of an automatic property creation, Google created a Google Analytics 4 property on your behalf. Automatically created Google Analytics 4 properties reuse existing site tags whenever possible. Learn more on Google's documentation.

Though GA is the leading platform for site analytics, it is not the only one. If you are looking to use data or at least capture it for future reporting, then we'd recommend you set up an analytics integration. Other providers worth noting include Amplitude, Open Web Analytics, & Matomo.
