Marketing & Communication: The Basics

Bringing value through great communication is always a significant element to any successful fundraising campaign. In this guide we’ll explore how Raisely can help you get setup, making sure you’re capturing and connecting with your audience.

Skip Ahead To

Audience: Donors & Fundraisers

As you develop new campaigns, you will interact with two groups of people: Donors (every campaign), & Fundraisers (Peer-to-Peer or Community Hubs). It’s important to view these as separate audiences, as you will likely communicate differently with each.

Donors

Donors are anyone who has donated to your campaign either directly through an Appeal or indirectly through your Fundraisers. By default, your donors information include: first & last name , and email address. Custom fields can be added with your Donation Form settings.
1
To access donor records in your Raisely Supporter Management Tool, simply select People from the side bar.

Fundraisers

Fundraisers are those who represent your charity by signing up to a Peer to Peer or Community Hub campaign. Upon signup, they not only are added to your Raisely Supporter Management Tool, but are created their own unique Profile page, giving them an online landing page to reach their network of donors and fundraise.
💡  A Raisely account is automatically generated upon signup/donation, with email being the unique identifier. If a donation or profile is added manually with a campaign, the individual must be linked to an existing account otherwise they will not appear in the Supporter Management Tool.

Data: Form fields

Collecting and managing the right data is a crucial step for healthy campaigns. It allows you to personalise your communication, send timely messages, and give you further insights so you can grow.
Form fields are the basis of data collection, found within your Donation Form Settings and SignUp Form Settings. Default fields include first & last name, and email, and we include a number of common fields you can also add. Custom fields are an advanced option, enabling you full control over new fields you’d like to create. These can be really useful when utilising personalisation or capturing website data, as you can determine the Field ID.
All form fields can be brought into your messages or site pages via {{merge tags}}, making personalised communication simple.

Sending timely and personalised messages to your audience is simple with Raisely.

Using Merge Tags is a simple way to personalize your content, as it pulls information from your site and Raisely Supporter Management Tool. Merge tags are either USER, CAMPAIGN, DONATION, SUBSCRIPTION, or TEAM related.
