Campaign Checklist

When you are close to launching your campaign, it's always nice to make sure every T is crossed and i is dotted. In this cheat sheet, we'll take you through a helpful checklist so you can cover all your bases. These stages are in order, though that doesn't mean you cannot skip ahead if needed.

Within your campaign, right-click Live Site from the side bar and open in  Incognito Window. This will allow you to view your site as your audience will. Check through the list below, recording notes for you to follow up on. You can download this sample Spreadsheet to help.

1. Check Campaign Page Content

  • Look for incomplete pages, including missing/incomplete sentences, images, etc
  • Test all Links including the menu links and buttons
  • Check Campaign Logo links to Home page

2. Check Campaign Page Design

  • Check your padding and margins to make sure they are consistent across pages
  • Check your use of Typography, making sure you have used your text styles consistently
  • Check the resolution of your images to make sure they are clear on a HD (1920 x 1080) screen. This is a full screen view on a 13' laptop.
  • Make sure all images have been compressed, so you can reduce the file size. Use tools listed here to help.
  • Check mobile view to make sure your padding, margins, images, and all else are displaying correctly for a great user experience

3. Test Donation Form

  • Within your Live Site on an incognito window, enter a test donation with a test credit card. Be sure to follow the whole process and also check for email messages
  • Were the dollar handle selections correct?
  • Open People from the sidebar to check that the donor information has been processed the way intended
  • Open PDF receipt from email to test it is formatted correctly

4. Test Signup Form (for Peer to Peer Campaigns)

  • Complete a Signup for your campaign, adding a team, and self-donation or registration if applicable
  • Open People from the sidebar to check that the fundraiser information has been processed the way intended
  • Open the test persons Profile to make sure all profile information has been collected
  • Click through the campaign site as a test fundraiser to identify any areas of improvement
When signing up for a fundraiser account, we recommend using an alias email address. This will prevent any issues or conflicts with the email address you use as a Raisely admin. So if your email address is "raiselyadmin1@organisation.com", you can create an alias email by adding "+test" so it'll look like "raiselyadmin1+test@organisation.com". You can set up multiple test accounts, with all of the messages sent to your primary email address.

5. Set up your Custom Domain and Custom Sending Domain (optional)

  • Connect your Custom Domain to your Campaign. This will make it easier for your supporters to locate and share your campaigns. You can find the instructions in Settings: Setting Up Domain (URL)
  • Connect your Custom Sending Domain to your Raisely organisation. This will allow you to use a custom sender's address to send out your messages. Be sure to update the sender's address for all your messages to make use of the updated settings. See Messages: Email Sending Domain for the steps
With the latest updates to email security and verification, we highly recommend using a custom sending domain to reduce email bounce and block rates.

6. Test your Messages

  • Refer to Default Messages Explained for full list of messages used within your Campaign
  • Within each message, send a test message via Step 4, checking all merge fields are working correctly and email is displaying your branded content and NOT the generic Raisely brand items
  • Double check custom messages audiences
  • Double check all messages Sender Name & Email, as well as each Subject Line

7. Integrations

  • Run through the integrations that you have set up to make sure the data is being pushed and captured with each platform

8. Team Members & Permissions

  • From the sidebar select Organisation > Team and make sure all team members are added and have setup their accounts. You can check user permissions here as well

9. Check in with the Raisely Team (Optional) or Book and Expert Chat

  • The Team at Raisely is excited to see you launch your Campaign! You can let us know via support@raisely.com and our team would love to be cheering you on!
  • You can also book an Expert Chat, where you can chat with a member of our Customer Success Team to plan your next campaign, get a design & campaign review before you go live, or receive some extra training on a certain feature in Raisely

10. Go Live by setting your Payment Gateway Active

  • From the sidebar select Campaign > Settings > Payments & Receipts and under General Settings, toggle on "Accept live payments". This will allow real transactions to be processed on your forms, so you'll want to be sure you're ready to go live to accept live payments on your campaign site
When you switch on your payment gateway, any test donations/transactions you have made on the campaign site will be hidden from your dashboard. To view the test data, you'll just need to deactivate your payment gateway. You'll still be able to view both data types when you generate reports.
