Step One: Creating Individual Tickets
Before you get started with bundling your tickets, you'll first want to create the different ticket types that you'll be selling:
In the example above, we have created Ticket 1 and Ticket 2, which can refer to different ticket types. Some examples can include:
- Adult/Child tickets
- Premium/Standard tickets
- Entry only/Entry with Meal
Step Two: Creating the Ticket Bundle
Once you have your individual tickets setup, you can proceed to setting up the Ticket Bundle. You'll initiate the process by clicking on Add Ticket Type and in the popup, you'll see the option to setup a Ticket Bundle:
The rest of the setup would be similar to the individual tickets setup. However, what's different is that you'll be able to select which tickets belong to the bundle and if you want to include multiple tickets of each ticket type within the bundle:
Once happy, click on Save Ticket Bundle.
Ticket Bundle Behaviour
Some key things to take note of when working with Ticket Bundles:
-
A ticket bundle can only be made active if all the tickets in the bundle are also active. If a ticket in the bundle is made inactive, then the bundle will automatically be made inactive.
-
You can also set the quantity (i.e. maximum number) of Bundles available, similar to individual tickets
-
If the individual tickets in a bundle exceed their quantity available (e.g sold out) then the bundle will also be marked sold out
Capturing Attendee Details for Ticket Bundles
Ticket bundles will capture attendee details for each individual ticket and this will be shown on the attendee list (there is also a field indicating whether or not a ticket is part of a bundle). Order details in the Admin also group tickets in a bundle together:
One of the cool new features that comes with Ticket Bundles, is the ability to "Copy Previous" answers if relevant. For example, if you are participating in a running event and you want all participants to run at the save wave time. You only need to select the wave time once for the first participant:
So when you get to subsequent tickets, you'll just need to select "Copy Previous" to select the same responses:
This simplifies the process of purchasing multiple tickets and having to manually copy and paste responses for each ticket.
Managing Ticket Bundle Orders
This is similar to how you would manage the purchase of Individual tickets. For example:
- Cancelling Tickets or Ticket Bundles - You can choose to cancel individual tickets in a bundle, or the whole bundle itself:
- Refunding Ticket Bundles - You can refund ticket bundles the same as you can refund regular tickets:
- Updated Order Confirmation Email - We have updated the Order Confirmation template to display ticket bundles:
- Transaction Items Report - The "All Tickets" report now includes a new field called Parent Bundle Item that indicates if an item is part of a bundle:
