Raisely’s MCP Cursor plug-in lets you use Cursor to connect to Raisely, query fundraising data, analyze campaign performance, create new campaigns, and make campaign edits from within Cursor’s chat and terminal workflow.
The plug-in is currently in beta. It can speed up campaign setup and page editing, but outputs should still be reviewed before publishing. Some campaign elements may still need to be completed manually in Raisely admin.
Who this plug-in is for
The Cursor plug-in is best suited for teams with technical resources, developer support, or a strong willingness to learn and troubleshoot AI-assisted tools like Cursor and Claude. You do not need to be a traditional developer to explore the plug-in, but you should be comfortable working in a chat and terminal-style workflow, testing outputs carefully, and resolving some issues independently.
It may be a good fit for:
- Developers or technical team members building Raisely campaigns
- Agencies or large organizations creating a high volume of campaign pages
- Fundraising teams with technical support who want to accelerate campaign setup
- Teams creating complex or highly customized layouts, components, CSS, or JavaScript
- Teams that use GitHub for version control, code review, and rollback protection
If your team prefers a visual, no-code workflow, does not want to learn or troubleshoot Cursor, or expects a fully finished campaign from one prompt, Raisely admin remains the recommended place to create and manage campaigns.

What you can use it for
You can use the Cursor plug-in to help with tasks such as:
- Creating a new Raisely campaign from a brief
- Selecting or adapting a campaign template
- Applying campaign copy, colors, and configuration details
- Editing page components and styling
- Querying or analyzing campaign data
- Testing campaign changes before they go live
- Continuing campaign edits step-by-step in Cursor
The plug-in can make many setup and styling changes, but it may not complete every campaign detail automatically.
Before you start
Before installing the plug-in, make sure you have:
- A Cursor account and access to the Cursor app
- Access to the Raisely account you want to connect
- The right Raisely permissions for the campaign or organization you want to work with
- A clear campaign brief, if you want the plug-in to create or configure a campaign
Helpful campaign brief details include:
- Campaign name
- Campaign type, such as peer-to-peer event, appeal, or other campaign format
- Fundraising goal and currency
- Donation options, such as one-time and monthly giving
- Whether donors should be able to give in their own currency
- Whether to enable a monthly giving upsell after one-time donations
- Brand colors
- Headline, subheading, and core campaign copy
- Preferred URL path
- Any template preference
How to install the Cursor plug-in
- Open Cursor.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Plugins.
- Browse the marketplace.
- Search for Raisely.
- Select the Raisely plug-in and choose Add to Cursor.
- Confirm the plug-in appears in your installed plugins.
After installation, the Raisely plug-in should also appear under Cursor’s MCP services.
How to authenticate with Raisely
The plug-in must be authenticated before it can work with your Raisely account.
- In Cursor, open the Raisely plug-in.
- Choose Try in chat or start a Cursor chat that uses the plug-in.
- Cursor should prompt you to authenticate.
- Select Authenticate.
- A Raisely authentication window will open.
- Confirm the Raisely account you want to connect.
- Approve the connection.
- Return to Cursor.
Once authenticated, Cursor should show guidance for how the plug-in works, including examples of what you can ask.
Creating a campaign with the plug-in
You can ask Cursor to create a new campaign using plain language.
Example prompt:
Create a new Raisely campaign called Swim for Seals.
If Cursor does not have enough information, it will ask follow-up questions. If you already have a campaign brief, paste it into the Cursor chat when prompted. Cursor can use that brief to fill in many campaign details and reduce the number of manual answers needed.
Reviewing before publishing
When Cursor is ready to create or update a campaign, it may ask whether you want to push the changes live immediately or create the campaign in test mode first.
We recommend creating or editing campaigns in test mode first whenever possible. This gives you a chance to:
- Preview the campaign
- Review generated copy
- Check styling and layout
- Confirm donation settings
- Make manual edits before publishing
Do not publish AI-generated campaign changes without reviewing them first.
What Cursor may not update automatically
Some campaign elements may still need to be updated manually in Raisely admin. In the demo workflow, Cursor was able to create and style much of the campaign, but some items still required manual review or editing.
You may need to update items such as:
- Images or photos
- Logos
- Announcement banners
- Donation handles
- Final campaign settings
- Any brand or layout details that did not apply correctly
You can either continue making supported edits step-by-step in Cursor or finish the remaining work in Raisely admin.
Editing an existing campaign
You can also use Cursor to edit existing Raisely campaigns. For example, you might ask it to:
- Change button colors
- Add borders or visual treatments
- Adjust page components
- Customize leaderboard styling
- Add or modify progress bar styling
- Update copy across campaign pages
Example prompt:
Update the campaign page so the primary buttons are purple and the leaderboard has a more celebratory style.
After Cursor makes changes, review the campaign carefully in preview or test mode before publishing.
Recommended best practice: use GitHub for versioning
If you want version history or rollback protection for campaign changes, use GitHub with your Cursor workflow.
This is strongly recommended because it helps protect your work if:
- You make a mistake
- AI generates an unexpected change
- You want to compare versions
- You need to roll back to a previous campaign state
Using GitHub gives your team a safer way to review, track, and recover changes while working with AI-assisted campaign editing.
Troubleshooting
I can’t find the Raisely plug-in in Cursor
Check that you are searching the Cursor plugin marketplace for Raisely. If multiple results appear, select the Raisely plug-in intended for the Raisely MCP integration.
The plug-in is installed, but it is not working
Try the following:
- Confirm the plug-in appears in Cursor under installed plugins.
- Confirm it appears under Cursor’s MCP services.
- Start a new Cursor chat and select Try in chat from the plug-in.
- Re-authenticate with Raisely if prompted.
- Confirm you are connecting to the correct Raisely account.
Cursor is asking a lot of follow-up questions
This usually means Cursor does not have enough campaign context. Paste in a campaign brief with the campaign type, goal, donation settings, brand colors, copy, and URL path.
Cursor created the campaign, but some items are missing
This is expected in some beta workflows. Review the campaign in Raisely admin and complete any missing items manually, such as images, logos, announcement banners, donation handles, or final settings.
I’m worried about losing changes
Use GitHub for versioning before making significant campaign edits through Cursor. This helps you track changes and recover previous versions if needed.
