Introduction
The Raisely MCP Plug-in for Cursor and Connector for Claude brings AI-assisted development directly into your fundraising workflow. We are offering this plug-in for Raisely customers who use (or are willing to learn) Cursor or Claude as part of their workflows.
This guide is designed to help you clearly identify whether your team should adopt the Cursor or Claude integration, or stick with the standard Raisely Admin panel. You do not need to be a traditional developer to explore these tools, but you do need a basic understanding of what they can do, comfort with a learning curve, and willingness to troubleshoot independently.
đźź© When You SHOULD Use the MCP Plug-ins
These plug-ins are best suited for teams with technical resources, developer support, or a strong willingness to learn AI-assisted tools. It makes sense to use this integration if:
- You use—or are willing to learn—Cursor or Claude: If you are comfortable using Claude or Cursor, or willing to learn how to use them responsibly, this plug-in can hook your Raisely data and campaigns into an AI-assisted workflow.
- You are managing a high volume of campaigns: Agencies or large organizations spinning up dozens of campaign pages can feed text-based briefs into Cursor/Claude to quickly build campaign structures, cutting down on repetitive clicking.
- You want complex, highly customized UI components: If you need to implement advanced CSS or JavaScript for non-standard design elements—such as a specialized tracking animation, a custom progress bar, or a custom-styled leaderboard—Cursor/Claude can generate and inject this code directly.
- You rely on GitHub for version control: If your organization requires strict code reviews, code branches, and rollback history for your digital assets, managing your campaign layouts through Cursor via GitHub is highly beneficial. Or, if you are generally familiar with GitHub and how to use it.
- You are comfortable learning and troubleshooting independently: These tools make prompt engineering and AI-assisted setup more accessible, but they still require judgment. You should be willing to learn the basics, test outputs carefully, and resolve issues without relying on Raisely Support to operate Claude or Cursor for you.
🟥 When You SHOULD NOT Use the MCP Plug-ins
If any of the following apply to you, you should not use this plug-in, as it will likely overcomplicate your workflow:
- You are not willing to learn or troubleshoot Cursor/Claude: If you are not confident using these tools and are not prepared to learn the basics, test outputs, or troubleshoot issues independently, the standard Raisely Admin remains the recommended path.
- You prefer a visual, no-code environment: The plug-in operates through a chat and terminal interface. If you prefer selecting colors visually, dragging and dropping elements, and seeing live visual updates instantly, the standard Raisely Admin is built for you.
- You expect a 100% finished campaign with one prompt: The plug-in is a tool to speed up setup, not a complete replacement. It cannot fully launch a campaign independently. You will still need to manually jump back into the Raisely Admin to upload logos, add announcement banners, change imagery, and configure final donation handles.
- You do not use GitHub: Because generative AI can occasionally make mistakes or unexpected styling alterations, working in Cursor without GitHub version control puts you at risk of breaking your page configuration with no easy way to undo it.

The Bottom Line
Before installing, ask yourself: Does my team have a basic understanding of what Claude or Cursor can do, and are we willing to learn, test, and troubleshoot independently? If the answer is no, please skip this plug-in for now. The standard Raisely Admin remains the most powerful, straightforward, and reliable way to launch your fundraising campaigns successfully. If the answer is yes, you do not need to be a traditional developer to explore these tools—but you should be aware of the risks and learning curve.
